Day 1: Departure from your country / Arrival in Armenia / Meeting and transfer to the hotel / Check-in / Accommodation
Day 2: ECHMIADZIN (religious center of all Armenians)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit to the city of Echmiadzin, spiritual center of Christianity in Armenia. Visit to the church of Santa Hripsimé of the 7th, the Cathedral of the 4th: the oldest Christian church in the country and the official residence of the Catoghikos of all Armenians. Then, visit the ruins of the temple Zvartnots (Temple of the Angels of the sky, s.7). Return to Yerevan. Lunch in the restaurant. Visit to the Museum and Monument of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. In the afternoon visit to the outdoor craft market in Yerevan - Vernisage. Free dinner Accommodation in Yerevan.
Day 3: YEREVAN - LAGO SEVAN - GOSHAVANK - YEREVAN
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out. Excursion in which the landscape will be its primordial element. Arrival in the city of Dilijan and near the city, in the village of Gosh visit to the monastic complex of Goshavank (ss.12-13). Excursion to Lake Seván, located at almost 2000 meters above sea level with an area of approximately 1200 square kilometers constitutes an "inland sea" for Armenians. Visit to the churches of the peninsula of Sevan (s.9) Lunch. In the afternoon visit to Noraduz, one of the sets of "khachkares" (stone mounds with a large number of crosses sculpted) most important in the country. Return to Yerevan. Day 4: YEREVAN - KHOR VIRAP - NORAVANK - YEREVAN
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit to one of the most important places of pilgrimage in the country: the Khor Virap Monastery, in an impressive landscape with the backdrop of the gigantic Mount Ararat. Here the Monastery was erected, because it is where the place where Saint Gregory "the Illuminator" was held captive for thirteen years (for those who wish it, it is possible to go down a steep staircase to the "dungeon" in which he remained , prisoner of the pagan king Tiridades III. After this interesting visit, continuation towards the Monastery of
Noravank, masterpiece of the ss. 13-14, raised on a promontory, inside a large natural canyon of large dimensions. Lunch in the restaurant. In the afternoon, return to Yerevan. Fruit market. Free dinner Accommodation in Yerevan
Day 5: YEREVAN -GARNI - GUEGHARD - YEREVAN
Breakfast at the hotel. Travel around the city. Visit the monument of Mair Hayastan (Armenian Mother), from where a beautiful panorama of the city opens. Visit to Matenadarán (Institute and museum of ancient Armenian manuscripts). Departure to the Kotayk region with a stop next to the Arch of Yeghishé Charents from where a wonderful view of Mount Ararat opens. Typical picnic lunch in a peasant house in the village of Garni. Excursion to the pagan Temple of Garní, a Roman group of Hellenistic influence (where
the remains of Roman baths with mosaics). Arrival at the Gueghard monastery, the most impressive Monastery in the whole country: due to its location and construction, it appears as hanging from one of the walls, from a narrow and tortuous canyon and, thanks to this isolation, by the mysticism and spirituality that is there breathe, the atmosphere gives a feeling of paradise (also here was many years guarded "the Holy Lance", before being transferred to Echmiadzín). Return to Yerevan. Free dinner Accommodation in Yerevan.
Day 6: YEREVAN- ALAVERDI - TBILISI
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out of the hotel. Departure by bus to the city of Alaverdí, a city with
copper mines located in the valley of the Debed River, northeast of Armenia. Full day excursion to visit the Haghpat and Sanahín Monasteries, declared World Heritage Site by the
UNESCO. Although it is the longest stage of the whole trip, the beauty of the natural environment and the place where these wonderful constructions rise up, compensate for the displacement and make you keep a great memory. Both buildings are dated between the 10th and 13th centuries. Lunch in the restaurant. Departure to the border of Armenia - Georgia, management of customs formalities. Meeting with the guide and departure to Tbilisi. Free dinner Accommodation in Tbilisi.
Day 7: TRIP BY THE CITY TBILISI
Breakfast at the hotel. The first visit of the day will be the Metekhi Church with views towards the ancient city. We will continue the journey to the Cathedral of Sioni which is considered as a symbol of Tbilisi. We can also take a look at the basilica and the bell tower of Anchiskhati ss. 6-18. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch we continue towards Narikala Fortress. For centuries the fortress has been considered the best strategic point of the city. To ascend there you can use
Cableway. After the panoramic view of Tbilisi, you can walk down to visit the area of the sulfur baths. Walk through the old town, where you can find souvenir shops. We will also visit the National Museum of Georgia, where it is possible to see the goldsmith exhibition. Free dinner Accommodation in Tbilisi.
Day 8: TBILISI- GORI -UPLISTSIKE - MTSKHETA - JVARI-TBILISI
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the Shida Kartli region. Arrival Gori, birthplace of Joseph Stalin and visit the Stalin Museum. Visit the cave city of Uplistsikhe - "fortress of God", an ancient city carved into the rock. Visit to Mtskheta - former capital of Georgia. Lunch in a restaurant After lunch visit to the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) and the Church of Jvari (ss.6-7) - Church of the Holy Cross. Return to Tbilisi. Free dinner accommodation
Day 9: TBILISI - ALAVERDI- GREMI- VELISTSIKHE - TBILISI
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the Kakheti region through the Gombori Pass (1,839 m). The first visit of the day is the Alaverdi Monastery - the oldest and largest temple in medieval Georgia. The next stop is the architectural monument of Gremi from the 16th century. Lunch in a restaurant. On the way back visit to the 300 year old cellar - "Numisi" of Velistsikhe, where you can taste 5-6 kinds of local wine. Return to Tbilisi. Accommodation in Tbilisi.
Day 10: Departure
Hotel check out. Transfer to the airport. Return to thecountry of origin. End of the tour. End of our services.
